When I first read the press release for this product, I couldn’t believe it was serious. A new lip balm claims that it can help you lose weight and have more energy, and that since it is applied to the lips, is more effective than orally consumed energy drinks or supplements. Energy-X lip balm, made by Burner Balm, Inc., is supposedly a healthier alternative because it contains no sugars or artificial sweeteners. The press release states: “Energy-X is applied directly on the lips and is therefore absorbed faster into the bloodstream and starts working immediately. A drink has to be swallowed, get into the stomach, and then absorbed, plus stomach acids and food at times may delay absorption.”
I don’t know about this… but I must admit, I am curious. Energy-X lip balm contains three ingredients to help burn fat and promote weight loss: caffeine, green tea extract, and the herb hoodia, which suppresses the appetite. Right now, the lip balm is only available for purchase online. A pack of five costs $19.95, plus $3 shipping and handling.
