Money Monday: How to shop at a thrift store
Monday, November 23rd, 2009Today’s Money Monday post will be short and sweet. Here’s a cool video I found on YouTube about some basic rules for thrift store shopping. I love thrifting, and I always hit the shops during the holidays. This video is a quick one, so it’s a great resource for beginners. Do you plan on doing any thrift store shopping during the holiday season? Would you give a thrift store purchase as a gift? Let me know…

I love these ideas. Sometimes I would take my children and we had lovely times, searching through the toys and clothes. If they bought a toy, then they had to donate one of their toys. If they bought new clothes they had to donate something they already had back. They understood the concept and most days were happy to comply with this rule.

Joan, that is an excellent way to teach kids how to give and how to declutter. I am now doing that too. I think it’s more fun to shop thrift stores than retail shops… thanks for stopping by!!

I will most certainly buy stuff at thrift stores. The things I find there are often unique and special!
