I love these ideas. Sometimes I would take my children and we had lovely times, searching through the toys and clothes. If they bought a toy, then they had to donate one of their toys. If they bought new clothes they had to donate something they already had back. They understood the concept and most days were happy to comply with this rule.

I will most certainly buy stuff at thrift stores. The things I find there are often unique and special!
