My son watches the Berenstain Bears every morning on PBS Sprout. I really like how each episode teaches valuable life lessons that children can really understand. My mom says that many of the lessons seem to have a Biblical theme, and that she even remembers reading Berenstain Bears books to me when I was a kid.
An article in USA Today has just announced that Walden Media has acquired the rights to produce a full-length feature film based on the Berenstain Bears books, “a comedy that will be a mix of live-action and computer animation.” The Berenstain Bears were first introduced to the world in 1962 in a classic titled, “The Big Honey Hunt,” written by Jan and the late Stan Berenstain. Look for the film to hit theaters sometime in 2011.

We don’t get Sprout but my sons love the books. This is a movie we’d love to see! Thanks for the info!
