I just read a press release that stated coupon use is up by 27 percent. This is really good news because it means that manufacturer’s are not cutting back in offering coupons and deals for families who are willing to put in the effort and time it takes to save lots of money using coupons. If you are a new coupon user or still need guidance on how to save big using coupons, rebates, and other savings tools, I offer you some simple steps to get you started.
First, check the Coupon Mom’s new book, as well as her new YouTube channel. Stephanie Nelson has broken down the art and science of using coupons in a simple (and sometimes complicated) system to help save your family money. Her new book is titled “The Coupon Mom’s Guide to Cutting Your Grocery Bills in Half: The Strategic Shopping Method Proven to Slash Food and Drugstore Costs” and has been on the New York Times bestselling list for three weeks. She covers everything from organizing coupons, how to save at your local grocery store, and it even includes strategies on how to save on non-grocery items too.

Next, visit some popular coupon sites and forums. The two I like are AFullCup.com and WeUseCoupons.com. There are others, but these two seem to have the most helpful and supportive communities, as well as lots of information for newbies.
And finally, if you need to stock up on coupons, I recommend “buying” coupons from sources such as eBay or my favorite site, Coupons and Things by Dede. Technically, coupons cannot be bought or sold, but in these cases, the coupons are sent “free” and you are charged a handling and processing fee. Using coupons can be overwhelming, but with a little knowledge and guidance, it doesn’t have to be a headache. I hope these tips help… Good luck in your money saving adventures!!
