As a Christian parent, I know how difficult it is to protect children from inappropriate things. Whether it be on television, in movies, or music, guarding what goes into your child’s mind is a full-time responsibility. When I recently discovered that a new version of the classic Ouija board game by Hasbro had been newly designed with the color pink, I was shocked to say the least. It seems that not only are toy and clothing manufacturers targeting young girls with inappropriate items to wear or to play with, but now, making a product that is a direct attack on a child’s spiritual awareness and innocence is just play in wrong. Critics have also stated that the board is part of a variety of occult materials being marketed to ‘tween’ girls. I know I may be going against popular opinion when I say that I don’t believe that the Ouija board is “just a game.” My opinion of a “game” is something that teaches children sportsmanship, it can sometimes be educational, it can teach a child how to follow directions, and it also teaches them how to win or lose gracefully. I can’t honestly see a “pink Ouija board” accomplishing any of those things… Am I alone in feeling this way? Please share with me your thoughts on this… The good news is that this item is currently being “phased out” at all Toys R’ Us stores.

I totally agree with, you no matter how fun they try to make it, it is still something that I don’t believe that children should be exposed to this kind of stuff you are messing around with spirits and a childrens mind is something where I believe that you can open doors and if you start to believe in something your mind starts playing games on you, I too am a Christian and I don’t even know why this game is on shelves they are trying to really reach out to teens with this kind of stuff but overall it is our job as parents to protect our children from this garbage, so I too am on this banwagon! Its just something that I go against these are just my2cents feel free anyone that has a complete different opinion….
Thanks for your input!! I “played” with a Ouija board once when I was younger. It freaked me out and I know that it was not a good thing. My son will not be allowed to play with this at all while he is in my home. Thanks for sharing your “2 cents”!!
