Product Review: Googly Bands

Nearly every kid in my neighborhood is going crazy collecting Googly Bands.  If you don’t know what they are of if you’ve never seen them… they’re colorful fun shaped silicone bands that return to their original shape even after they’ve been stretched and pulled.  The kids seem to be so obsessed with collecting, wearing, and trading these things, that they’ve even been banned in some public schools.  The hottest collectible since Beanie Babies, Googly Bands are very affordable, around one dollar for a pack of 12, and are available at most major retailers including WalMart and Walgreens.

This month, submissions are being accepted for the first ever Googly Band Design Contest.  The top ten band designs will be posted on googlybands.com and fans will be able to vote for their favorite top three designs.  Imperial will select the final winning design, and the winner will be awarded a $50 gift card, along with seeing his or her chosen design possibly become eligible for development.

  1. I saw these the other day in Toys R Us. Some customers behind me were talking about them.
