After being laid off from a her job as a reporter at a local Las Vegas radio station, Desiree began blogging as a way to continue doing news and to keep up her journalism skills. She quickly launched “MommyReporter.com,” a daily updated blog that provides today’s mom with useful, family-friendly news and information. As Mommy Reporter, Desiree covers breaking news, offers product reviews, and even profiles interesting women and mothers. Her blog has led to numerous opportunities to work with many notable companies including LogiTech, Proctor and Gamble, The Dial Corporation, and Sky Angel, LLC. She is currently on the mom bloggers panel for PBS KIDS Sprout and Today’s Mama, and she also volunteers as the “blog coach” for students and instructors at Kaplan University.
The main focus of her work is to spotlight the positive news regarding mothers, children, and families, and to be an outspoken advocate on issues relating to natural and alternative health care, education, animal welfare, and the environment.
Desiree has worked in broadcast media for over six years including prior stints as an on-air reporter and anchor for CBS Radio and the FOX News Radio affiliate in Las Vegas, NV. She is the mother of a two year old son, Kadin, has a female rat terrier named “Bentley,” and currently lives in Las Vegas, NV.
